Our Vision is for a community that works together to advance community life.About the RoleThe role sits within the Festivals and Events team as part of the Creative Culture & Economic Development Department. The Department is united by the purpose to connect communities for creativity and prosperity.The position liaises with applicants and issues event permits in accordance with relevant protocols and frameworks. It builds relationships with artists and the community to provide technical support for a safe and engaging Festival and Events program and has demonstrated experience in the implementation of best practice strategies for risk and safety processes.Skills & ExperienceExperience in delivering arts and cultural events, projects, and programsExperience developing and monitoring risk assessmentsDemonstrated experience in coordinating and supervising contractorsUnderstanding of and commitment to community cultural development and working with a diverse communityCultureAs a progressive leader in Local Government, Darebin City Council is passionate about social inclusion, sustainability, engagement, and service excellence.
