In this role, you will lead the operations team. Your responsibilities range from processing steel reinforcing to despatch, stock control to site safety. Your goal is to ensure your team can produce and deliver steel reinforcing products that meet the needs of a demanding customer base, safety, and sustainability.Your duties will include:Manage all production activitiesWork with the latest in automated production equipment in the countryHire and manage all production and warehouse staffOH&S leadership and mentoring the production team in safetyOversee maintenance and upkeep of machinery and equipmentTeam leadership and HR responsibilities (including IR-related matters)Ensuring production quality standards are maintained and improved via 3rd party certificationImplementation of continuous improvement initiativesYou need to have a solid understanding of the steel process industry or related industries that supply to the construction sector. This is a hands-on role that requires a high level of energy, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and commitment to ensure your team can deliver on our client's needs.To be successful in this role, you will have:Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)A "can do" attitudeExperience in a similar role (preferably in the steel reinforcing sector)Robust understanding of the construction and manufacturing processesA proven track record in the same (or similar) roleExperience in Lean Manufacturing and Change ManagementA mechanical aptitudeComfort in a high-paced and demanding environmentAbility to lead a manufacturing team to embrace and strive for excellence in their workQualifications:Mechanical Engineering Diploma or equivalentTrade Certificate or diplomaMinimum of 5 years in the steel reinforcing industry, manufacturing managerial experience, or similarThe company will offer an attractive remuneration package.
