OverviewExciting opportunity to be part of this scale up operation, as they set-up a brand-new facility in Brisbane.
You'll be joining a dynamic leadership team as they install, commission and move into full production.
Good communication skills, together with a hands-on attitude are essential.
As Production Manager, you'll be contributing to the initial decision-making process and longer-term strategic plans.
A flexible and agile attitude is key, as some strategic decisions will be made in conjunction with ongoing R&D trials.
Key objectives Manage production personnel to ensure a safe and consistent work environmentManage the production schedule for on-time completion of products, inclusive of raw material supplyTake an active role in factory production planning and ensuring efficient plant and machinery running processesIdentify and address key challenges that may impact production schedulesManage shipping schedule for on-time delivery (ERP/MRP systems)Familiar with modern warehousing practicesWork with Quality Assurance to ensure consistency of finished products as well as both incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goodsResponsibilities Create and manage WIP report for tracking & developmentCreate, monitor and adjust where necessary, site safety protocols, standard work instructions and associated Quality Assurance documentation (in collaboration with QA/QC lead)Create an open environment of collaboration, cooperation and changeProvide status reports of product rates and improvementsDrive development process through frequent communication with senior management and vendors during product lifecycle (inclusive of packaging)Partner with research & design team for product development and approval (via trial/conceptual development)Partner with internal teams to engineer products within cost parametersTrack development milestones to meet established objectives/deadlinesAdhere to company policies in regards Health and Safety, Quality, Human Resources and ITRequired skills and qualifications A minimum of 5 years' experience in a production or product management role within a manufacturing environment.
Exposure to the complete lifecycle of a product.Experience in a continuous manufacturing environment would be ideal, but not essential i.e.
polymers, resins, plastics, blending, quartz stoneExperience in managing product lifecycles including raw material lifeExperience in negotiating with multiple vendors to meet specified budgets and delivery schedules, both raw materials and finished goodsAbility to manage a team efficiently and effectively, nurturing a culture of open and collaborative communicationPreferred skills and qualifications Proficiency with PC applications, including Excel and ERP/MRP systemsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsTeam player, leading from the front and by examplePrepared to be hands-on when and where required N.B.
