Fantastic opportunity for a Product Technologist to join the Applications team in our Blayney Factory. This role will manage execution of Product related New Product Development (NPD) projects and improvement initiatives at factory level.
A day in the life… Reporting to the Applications Group Manager and being a custodian of Product and Process for the Factory, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead product trials at Factory level with focus on line performance, cost efficiency on time delivery and product quality.Ensure compliant products are developed and maintained through the Innovation and Renovation and Product Performance processes to meet internal and external regulations.Support shelf-life, storage handling, laboratory and ingredient tests for validation of new and existing products and changes in specifications in collaboration with QA.Apply Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) methodology to initiate or participate in focused problem solving; identify and implement cost reductions.Organise and document factory trials including process and validation of new products and changes in specifications.Develop relationships with all key existing (and new) material suppliers.Implement product related quality and compliance directives. Drive quality improvements in our product cosmetics and product nutrition.Ensure development of competencies and knowledge at the shop floor. Source & utilise training materials available internally or externally (or develop training materials as appropriate).Coordinate & Implement LEAN Design initiatives arising from product competitiveness analyses.Actively participate in NCE & TPM pillars and activities as directed by your manager, including attendance at daily operational reviews, delivering to the requirements outlined in the methodology.What will make you successful Joining a collaborative team of specialists, you will be a strong team player with a drive to deliver quality outcomes.Degree in Food Science, Engineering or related field of study.3+ years' experience in product development within food manufacturing or related industries.Demonstrated experience to lead people (2+ years).Experience with project management, early risk management, and stakeholder management.Strong interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.Knowledge of continuous improvement and problem-solving tools.Proven track record in delivering results by working with cross-functional teams.Previous experience and familiarity working with SAP preferred.Applicants will be required to undergo pre-employment checks, including but not limited to health checks, prior to appointment to this role.
