Product Strategy Lead - Australia & South Africa$155,000 base + attractive bonus + super

As part of our continuing growth, we're seeking a Product Strategy Lead to drive initiatives across customer acquisition, credit risk strategy and assessment automation in both our Australian and South African businesses.
Role Overview:Reporting to the Chief Product Officer and working closely with IT, risk and operations teams, you'll develop, prioritise, implement and refine strategies to uplift product performance, reduce risk, and drive new customer acquisition. Key KPIs include customer and application volume growth, marketing cost efficiency, application conversion, loan loss rates, and time to decision.
This hands-on role requires a commercial mindset and expertise in data analytics to inform strategic product decisions. Basic SQL coding skills and the ability to draw meaningful, commercially driven insights from data are essential. You will also manage two direct reports, providing leadership and support to help their ongoing development.
Key Responsibilities: Optimise credit policy settings and refine the automated assessment strategy to make faster and more robust lending decisions.Drive customer acquisition strategies via lead generators and SMS marketing.Define and prioritise product features and marketing campaigns to align with business goals.Effectively balance customer experience with responsible lending and profitability.Monitor key performance metrics and use data insights to identify opportunities to drive growth and reduce losses.Manage relationships with external partners, including lead generators and bank statement providers.Mentor and lead two direct reports and foster a strong team environment.Key Requirements: 5+ years of work experience (i.e currently at Manager level or a strong senior analyst looking to take the next step).Demonstrated success in product management or line 1 risk strategy roles within financial services or consumer lending.Strong understanding of credit risk management, origination automation, and new customer acquisition.Background in data-driven decision making, insights and analytics.Basic to intermediate SQL skills (ability to guide others in this space is highly regarded).Creativity to adapt strategies to different geographical markets.Demonstrated ability to effectively balance both shorter and longer term priorities.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.Experience managing and mentoring small teams.Why Join Us?
