About the RoleAs a Product Owner of Risk Infrastructure, the role will lead a high-performing team developing and implementing solutions around data and Risk decision systems while ensuring the systems are operational.
The role will collaborate with the Risk business to ensure that the work is strategically aligned with the tribe mission and engage with other Product Owners and Initiative Leads to align and manage interdependencies.
The role will enable and inspire a multi-disciplinary team ('Squad') to pursue its mission by guiding them on 'what' work should be completed by the squad.
In addition to being a people leadership role (with hard and dotted reporting lines), it is a key leadership role, galvanising the squad around a vision and supporting them to successfully deliver customer value at pace.
Part of the responsibility will be to engage with Technology in the deployment of Risk strategy changes and work with project teams outside of Risk wanting to use Risk infrastructure.
The role is also expected to effectively translate Business Requirements into workable User Stories and have a mindset to deliver and measure business value as part of the platform release train.

What will your day look like?Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing effort (and funding) estimation and backlog grooming to ensure high-priority tasks are correctly shown in the backlog for prioritisation.Creating platform release calendar and overseeing platform release activities to ensure they progress according to the required timeline and quality.Ensuring release activities comply with required procedures (e.g.
solution backups, appropriate coverage for both progression & regression testing, BVT engagements, and other release and change management activities).Assisting the team in overcoming blockers (providing guidance on what to look at, who to contact, recommended approach).Overseeing JIRA ticket management.Preparing priorities for Quarterly Program Increment (PI) planning.Managing collaborations with various stakeholders on prioritisation, risk identification, capacity discussions, and issue resolutions.Managing and resolving escalations.Ensuring timely management of production incidents.Developing and maintaining good relationships with key stakeholders.Ensuring healthy team dynamics.Tracking the team's performance in meeting the required KPIs, and supporting the team's growth objectives.People Leadership, managing the end-to-end employee lifecycle, from attraction, recruitment and on-boarding to workforce planning and managing exits.Overseeing knowledge management and retention such as management of required documentation (e.g.
FAQs, HowTo, Solution Guides).Ensuring sufficient support for NFR-related activities.Managing BAU budgeting activities.Supporting regulatory and internal audit reviews.Vendor engagements and partnerships to deliver strategic initiative.What will you bring?To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Educated to degree level in a numerate or commercial discipline.Effective people and project management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage members of a squad.Strong analytical, numerical, research, and problem-solving abilities to deliver Business and Technology solutions.Proven exposure to leading solution implementation covering data analytics/science and/or decision systems techniques and tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, R, Python, PowerCurve, Ab Initio, etc.
).At least ten years' experience in risk management (ideally Credit Risk domain) and/or technology, with exposure to credit and/or data lifecycle.Proven ability to communicate up (one level above) and amongst peer groups and stakeholders, and holding them accountable.Well-developed written and oral skills with a strong focus on behavioural and stakeholder engagement.Demonstrated financial management (BAU and/or Initiative workstreams).Excellence in prioritising tasks, questioning the relative value of planned and unplanned work, and being adaptable and flexible.Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and work under pressure to achieve deadlines.In-depth understanding and knowledge of credit/data processes and requirements relevant to the Risk Infrastructure (including regulatory landscape).Exposure to PowerCurve is a plus.Strong working knowledge of scrum and agile methodologies.Good working knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence).A strong execution mindset and ability to deliver quality outputs within required timeframes.You're not expected to have 100% of these skills.
