Permanent role Sydney based – hybrid working Excellent opportunity to join the Westpac Institutional Bank How will I help? The Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) Digital Program is responsible for enabling the WIB Digital Strategy by delivering new digital capability to our relationship managed customers and internal facing teams. A large part of this capability will be realised through delivery of the Westpac One platform. This is a new digital platform experience for relationship managed customers providing personalised access to real-time liquidity and payment solutions; lending, deposit and risk management tools; digitised onboarding and data-driven insights.

Westpac has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Product Owner with a strong delivery background and experience in helping teams and organisations transition to an Agile environment. The Product Owner will be required to work in an Agile team to drive the development of a high-value, high-quality product within the Westpac Agile Execution Framework, enabling the division to achieve its planned business outcome. You will be the bridge between the Product Manager (or customer) and an Agile development team, managing the value delivered by the team and ensuring that is aligns with the overall product strategy.

Key responsibilities will include: Supporting the Product Manager, by executing on the overall product strategy to the extent that the product you own contributes to it. Managing the product's stakeholders - balancing both customers and business needs and able to translate them into features. Working in close partnership with the Squad CX lead to ensure a customer centred design approach is embedded in all product feature/function delivery decisions. Ensuring that the product adheres to business controls and meets all security, legal and compliance requirements. Maximising the value of the product to the customer and the division. Managing the product backlog. Supporting the squad. Collaborating with product partners and vendors when necessary. What do I need? To be successful in this role you will come from a strong financial services background, with experience working in a large and complex organisation, working with senior stakeholders and understanding their viewpoints. You will have experience rolling out Digital Foundational capabilities working with products such as PING suite of products, PingOne SaaS roll-out experience an added advantage, DocuSign, Smart IQ, FrankieOne, Equifax, Encompass, and Multi-cloud product roll-out/deployment experience. Additionally, you will have experience working as a Product Owner within an Agile environment, and have used tools like JIRA, Confluence and Power BI. You will also:

Have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate well with teams. Be able to lead and demonstrate value-add principles to a team. Must be able to ensure Agile/Scrum concepts and principles are adhered to, must be able to be a voice of reason and authority, make the tough calls.
