Product Manager - Virtual Power Plants (Vpp)

D'Arcy Weil is representing a leader in the Australian energy sector, pioneering the development and implementation of innovative Virtual Power Plant (VPP) solutions. Our client is committed to integrating clean energy technologies that optimise grid performance and provide customers with greater control over their energy usage.
As a Product Manager – VPP , you will play a pivotal role in developing, managing, and scaling VPP products, ensuring they meet market demand, customer needs, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the product development lifecycle for VPP solutions, from concept to market launch. Define and execute product strategy to meet commercial objectives and drive adoption. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and sales, to deliver innovative VPP products that address customer and grid needs. Drive market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs related to VPPs. Ensure compliance with Australian energy regulations, grid standards, and market rules. Develop pricing models and product bundles that maximise value for customers and the business. Manage partnerships with technology providers, energy retailers, and grid operators to optimise VPP solutions. Monitor and report on product performance, including customer uptake, financial outcomes, and market competitiveness. Identify and implement product improvements based on customer feedback, technological advancements, and market evolution. Provide leadership in go-to-market strategies, ensuring successful product adoption and scaling.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred). Proven experience in product management, preferably within the renewable energy or power generation sectors. Deep understanding of Virtual Power Plants (VPP), energy markets, or distributed energy resources (DER). Experience working with energy management systems, grid technology, or renewable energy solutions. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate market needs into product solutions. Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a dynamic market environment. Current Australian working rights (no sponsorship offered for this position).
