The Role: We are currently seeking a Product Manager - Pre-Engineered Systems to
join our team in Mount Waverley, VIC.
The Product Manager Pre-Engineered Systems role has an emphasis on activities which will benefit sales in Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia and providing sales, marketing and technical product support to achieve growth of product sales within the above-described regions.
Duties will include, but not limited to: Review details of new fire protection applications and, where appropriate, research and develop new products with the engineering team to meet the fire objectives required for these applications. Develop engineering strategies and if necessary, propose changes to bring optimal results and performance. • Be in regular contact with the sales and marketing department to understand what effects the market will have on our policies and plans for future /existing products. Interpret and understand engineering requirements and layouts, determine if drawings and specifications will conform with the requirements of Australian Standards, fire engineering consultants and authorities having jurisdiction. Identify the risk areas of projects and consult with the fire consultants, clients, installers and end users as required and advise which engineering solution will be the most appropriate to provide the best fire protection for the risk. Write engineering specifications, design and produce drawings and determine the relevant equipment for the project. Liaise with equipment manufactures to ensure product quality and suitability. Ensure the product range achieves any required local approval and if required to coordinate with our OEM's and local approval body to achieve local certification. Determine the best distribution channel for each product range
Undertake any external or internal training requirements to ensure the product is designed and installed correctly as per standards, approval or OEM requirements. Identify any market ideas to ensure promotion of product range to installers or end users. Assist with any pricing requirements directly to installer, end users or through the FPT regional offices. Be able to undertake any presentations of products (sales, marketing or technical)  Manage pricing structures for each Pre-Engineered product range and liaise with OEM's to ensure annual priced list are up to date.  Coordinate any design and documentation through the drawing office to ensure outgoing documentation is appropriate for customer. Take reasonable care for your own health and safety Keep informed of the content of the integrated management system and apply it to daily work. Our ideal candidate will have: A bachelor degree in Engineering and/or Fire Engineering Have a strong mechanical aptitude. Thorough understanding of fire protection products and their applications Demonstrate a positive and energetic attitude. The ability to work autonomously and enjoy working as part of a team.
