The Role Acting as conduit for all NGS business units, the Product Manager will work closely with the Executive Manager, Strategy and Product to oversee the Fund's product function. This involves a particular focus on the group insurance products, through regular product reporting and monitoring. The role will be required to help understand business needs, gather technical product requirements, and engage with internal subject matter experts to assist with the delivery of product initiatives while ensuring that product governance processes are followed, and member outcomes are considered.
Key focus areas include: Product Custodian Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure new products, systems and processes are embedded in the business to be robustly managed going forward and in line with regulatory requirements. Understanding competitive landscape through assessment of market data and monitoring of developments, and to use this knowledge to build and maintain a competitor database. Supporting the Executive Manager, Strategy and Product: To embed and manage a robust process for product / service development which: Focuses on member needs, competitive positioning, and cost effectiveness. Leverages internal and external knowledge and insights. Analyses anticipated demand, production and operating risks and costs, and return on investment. Achieves executive team approval via compelling needs-based business cases. With implementing approved products and services, including drafting specification documents. With building business cases for stakeholder support. As required, assist the Chief Strategy Officer with additional product and strategy matters for the Board and/or Committee. Provide assistance and support to members of the Strategy team where required. You have: Minimum 5 years' experience in superannuation or insurance sectors, ideally with specific experience in Group insurance product management and/or development. RG146 compliant. Demonstrated experience in analysis and creative problem solving. Proven communication skills, with both experience in delivering verbal presentations and written reports. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport at all levels, both internally and externally. Excellent attention to detail. Good organisational stakeholder management capabilities. Current and sound knowledge of the superannuation industry, regulatory and legislative frameworks. Exposure to product management/development in all aspects of product in the superannuation environment (investments, super, pension and insurance) and be able to add value to existing business processes. Experience in the management and analysis of large data sets, using appropriate technology platforms.
