The Product Manager will work closely with the Senior Manager and will be responsible for the delivery of the product management roadmap.
The role will proactively lead the end to end product management framework, competitor analysis and product design including development of strategies within risk appetite for new clients.
They will build and lead technical conversation across the Metlife business and be known as the SME for group product.
The role will also build Met Life's position as a thought leader in the group insurance market by providing technical product advice, market information, health and community risk trends and product and customer insights to the business and to clients.
Key Responsibilities Product ownership of the end to end product offering of the allocated portfolio, including drafting and approval of policies documents, PDS documents and other product related material.
Execution of the product roadmap and client specific solutions within the agreed scope (including market research, technical development, opportunity assessment and strategic recommendations).
Researching and developing new product concepts, including working in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders in assessing product development ideas.
Proactive change management and engagement of key business stakeholders regarding any product upgrade or change of assigned portfolio.
Supporting the distribution and pricing teams on new business opportunities and contributing to tender response documents/presentation as required.
Provide technical guidance and education to claims, underwriting and admin teams to ensure appropriate processes are in place to ensure administration of the product as intended.
Develop and maintain key internal and external relationships.
Execution of any internal projects or initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications RG146 accredited or, subject to business demands, willing to attain accreditation within 3 months of obtaining role.
3+ years product management experience in insurance/financial services is desirable, or at least 3 years' experience in the group insurance environment.
Knowledge of market including: Working knowledge of the financial services industry including; structure, the role of different parties in the superannuation/group insurance value chain, market drivers and current trends.
Understanding of Met Life's competitors including key offerings and relationship strategies.
Exposure to the industry fund market, and/or corporate super market.
Ideally, exposure to financial products/services gained through: Working in the life insurance or financial services industry.
Interacting with group insurance clients.
Broader business and commercial experience.
