Job Description - Product Manager – Digital Prudential Handbook (APR1591)About APRAThe Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) was established in 1998 as an independent statutory authority that supervises almost 1,200 financial institutions that manage $8.6 trillion in assets for Australians across the banking, insurance, and superannuation sectors.APRA serves the Australian community by helping ensure financial institutions deliver on the financial commitments they make, within a stable, efficient, and competitive financial system. As the prudential regulator at the heart of Australia's financial services industry, we are accountable to the Australian Parliament and work closely with the Australian Treasury, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), and the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC).The roleThe primary role will be the product management of the digital Prudential Handbook ("Handbook"). The Handbook is a way to access and navigate APRA's prudential framework in an online format, including all prudential standards and related guidance. Secondary to this, you will work with the Policy Frameworks team, supporting their mission to make APRA's prudential framework clearer, simpler, and more adaptable.As the Product Owner of the Handbook, you will be the Handbook's subject matter expert and the first point of contact for queries on the Handbook. You will help to set the long-term vision for the Handbook, championing the feedback and needs of Handbook users and working with our development and hosting partner to plan and prioritise any enhancements required to the product.The teamPolicy is a core function of APRA, responsible for developing new prudential standards and guidance on emerging risks, along with reviewing and updating existing standards and guidance. This role is unique in that it encompasses both policy and digital communications functions. Success in this role will require engaging with internal handbook users and external stakeholders, and collaborating with other members of the Policy Frameworks and Digital Communications team.Key responsibilitiesBecoming the Handbook subject matter expert from a digital communications and content perspective, and a trusted first point of contact on Handbook queries;Understanding the Handbook's users and their needs, collecting quantitative and qualitative feedback for suggestions to enhance the product;Owning and managing a product backlog of enhancements, including the prioritisation and sizing of suggestions for the enhancement of the product;Suggesting and advocating for process improvements within the policy team as it relates to the content management of the Handbook;Coordinating reviews of the framework in the Handbook to ensure that it remains up-to-date;Championing the Handbook's ongoing compliance with legislative requirements;Managing checks on information uploaded to the Handbook to ensure that information is published correctly.About youExperience with the use of content management systems;Significant understanding of digital and contemporary communications methods, including website design, video, infographics, and other data presentation methods;Keen interest in evolving digital communications approaches, including AI;Operational effectiveness in being able to manage a portfolio of digital and publishing requests across a small team;Multi-tasking as appropriate and delivering on time, in budget, and to brief;An understanding of agile frameworks and tools (e.g., JIRA/Trello, Microsoft DevOps);An understanding of human-centred design principles;A strong understanding of accessibility principles and best practices;An outcomes-oriented and collaborative team player who inspires and supports others;Experience in one or more of the industries regulated by APRA, and/or a strong understanding of the development of public policy or supervisory practice is not required but would be looked upon favourably.To work with us, you must be an Australian citizen with eligibility to gain a Baseline Security clearance through the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.Why Work for APRAIn overseeing the safety and stability of the financial system, we seek to recruit, develop, and retain highly skilled professionals with the highest standard of integrity, who want to help shape financial services and protect the financial wellbeing of the Australian community.
