This role is responsible for helping execute the strategy of the Asset Servicing organization with a general focus on the Asia Pacific market. As the Product Manager , you'll be responsible for coordinating Product Management activities in partnership with the APAC and Global Product Management leads such as helping define the target client segment market and evaluating industry trends and uncovering opportunities, perform launches and post launch assessments/recommendations as they relate to the Australian business. You will also be responsible for performing regular maintenance of product materials, maintaining product inventory and key metrics, supporting new product introduction by creating the risk analysis and providing sales support through client/prospect pitches and RFP response and review. What you will do
General
Support both the regionalization of global products into APAC as well as the creation of products to exclusively benefit the APAC market. Support discovery and innovation by creating client personas and evaluating competitors. Assist in new product planning activities by deriving forecasts, composing product requirements and establishing future metrics. Display a balanced, cross-functional perspective, liaising with the business to improve efficiency, effectiveness and productivity. Support new product introduction by creating the risk analysis. Track customer satisfaction, evaluate metrics and KPIs, gauge channel performance, conduct post product launch audits. Provide sales support through RFP response and review. Monitor capital and expenses and rate card alignment across regions. Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact. Understand the unique nature of our business and be opportunistic in the market. Act resourcefully and creatively to ensure new products get to market quickly. Communicate the features and functions of products to internal and external stakeholders. Take responsibility for improving product quality. Proactively identify revenue opportunities and develop products that make an impact on our business. Coordinate product risk review as part of the new product development and expansions processes. Monitor changes in the regulatory environment and take the necessary steps to ensure compliance. Proactively identify all areas of risk including financial, reputation, regulatory and financial and make recommendations to minimize these.
Strategic
Assist in defining the regional strategy for products and guide the selection of development projects. Define target markets, customers, competitive strengths, and competition strategy (e.g., competing head-on or find a market niche). Position products relative to the competitive environment and identify what will differentiate or distinguish these products in the marketplace. Conduct feasibility analysis for new product development and obtain management approval. Lead the development of strategic business cases that tie market research to company vision. Cultivate and manage relationships with strategic clients, prospects and third parties.
About You
Understanding or knowledge of 2-3 Northern Trust products or business areas within a product domain, detailed knowledge of 1+ product and an understanding of client needs and how this impacts the product development agenda/roadmap. Good in building key relationships, influencing and negotiating with clients, partners and leaders across multiple disciplines. Organizational skills are required to support the Business Unit's goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff. Program or project management experience is advantageous, planning, analysis, design and governance. Knowledge of business strategy development is necessary to provide long term planning and to manage the profitability/performance of a major business segment.
