A Day in the Life The Product Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing strategies within the Surgical Operating Unit focusing on specific portfolio(s) in collaboration with the other Product Managers in the department.
The Product Manager will achieve optimal sales and margin returns at national, state, regional and account levels.
This will be achieved through supply chain management, technical training, product expertise, pricing, digital strategy, and communication.
Marketing plans and strategies will be customer-centric and will be designed and implemented in conjunction with Stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment in executing these strategies to protect and grow the business.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Formulates and reviews corporate short and long-range plans, goals, and objectives for specific product or product line.
Plans and implements product launch excellence for new technologies and key products using an omnichannel approach.
Conducts competitive product analysis and market research of product consumer behavior and professional audience.
Determines the profitability and viability of new products or product enhancements.
Develops production and marketing strategies and tactics to ensure effective product placement relative to market opportunity, working closely with product development for a specific product, brand, or product area over its entire life cycle.
Works with other functions to finalize product specifications.
Provides advertising with core brand equity.
Serves as technical adviser, demonstrating products and troubleshooting product issues.
Responsibilities may also include coordinating trade show activities, website development, developing future e-commerce strategies, and tracking of marketing campaigns to evaluate results and provide recommendations for future marketing promotions.
Comply with Medtronic's Finance and Legal policies and procedures, respond to both Internal and External Audit enquiries in a timely manner, and ensure follow-up on Action Items to address Audit recommendations.
Responsible for reporting complaints and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR).
Supports field activities such as product upgrades, product evaluations and customer conversions.
Serves as a marketing representative on contracts and tender activities.
Responsible for creating and updating marketing collaterals.
Responsible for regulatory submission, prioritization, and tracking.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Must Haves
Bachelor's degree, or Advanced degree.
2 years + medical device experience in sales or marketing.
Nice to Have:
Competent analytical and computer skills.
Strong and demonstrable business acumen.
Strong organization and time management skills, able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
Experience in all aspects of developing and managing marketing strategies.
Ability to work very well independently and participate as a key member of a team.
Experience in contracts and tenders.
Relevant product and industry knowledge.
