The Opportunity Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Product Durability Testing Officer in the Coated Products Evaluation team based at the Innovation Lab in Port Kembla Steelworks.
As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
In this action-oriented role, you will provide high quality assessments and evaluations of our product panels.
This includes products that are continuously exposed outdoors and in accelerated weathering cabinets.
Our evaluations assess the corrosion, humidity and UV durability performance of these products, plus their paint physical properties.
You will grow and develop your expertise in the performance and sustainability of our pre-painted products across roofing, walling, fencing and rain-water goods applications.
This role has the potential for inter-state travel up to four times per year and provides a mix of laboratory and outdoor work.
What Will You Do? In this hands-on role, you'll enjoy a mix of laboratory and outdoor work.
You will support and test the accelerated and outdoor durability of our pre-painted products and paint physical properties.
You will also be responsible for: successfully contributing to a safe working environment ensuring that our accelerated weathering machines maintain calibration and are operated within defined specifications daily capturing of credible quality data ensuring compliance to our laboratory NATA accreditation More About You You will contribute to a collaborative team, bringing your enthusiasm and initiative while working in a fast-paced environment.
