The Product Development Manager is responsible for the delivery of electrical and process automation design and architecture related to Metso SVS Engineering for product improvement and development projects. The position requires significant knowledge of industrial electrical engineering, electrical standards, process control design, network architecture and MES/ERP integrations. The PDM is responsible for managing the product development team and will have the responsibility to develop and improve Metso standard product portfolio according to the product roadmap and develop specific solutions for our customers. What you will do: Manage the delivery of product improvement and research and development projects. Ability to conceptualize, design, develop, test, and productize electrical and automation systems Develop product development road map from concept to product launch Identifying new opportunities for developing a new marketable product from concept to distribution. Improving an existing product to meet customers' needs better and invigorate a current market. Guiding the creation and improvement of products. Developing strategic project plans and researching market trends for product innovation opportunities. Identifying customer needs and proposing product solutions. Support project engineering team when required Ensure final design meets accepted specifications. Work with third-party partners as necessary Evaluate components and vendor partners for process control equipment and services. Communicate effectively with team Work with the marketing team to launch new products Develop budget and delivery schedule What you will need to succeed: Qualifications and Experience Bachelor of Engineering or technology in Electrical / Electronics / Electronics and telecommunication / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent with a minimum experience of 7 years, a preferred experience of 10 years Experience in Electrical and Control Systems Engineering design Experience in designing process automation for OEM equipment is a plus. Experience with commissioning automated equipment or systems is a plus. Experience in project management is a plus. Experience as trainer and training material development are a plus. Experience with Functional Safety systems is a plus. Skills and Abilities Must be able to demonstrate high a degree of Automation technical competency for design and integration of electrical components and automation software development. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and effective interpersonal skills are required. Must be able to function effectively both as a member of a team and as an individual contributor. Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time allotted with limited supervision. Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet deadlines. Must be capable of effectively working on several projects at one time. Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. High autonomy What's in it for you?
