About The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Product you will manage and further enhance one of its major category groups in relation to Product Development, Sourcing, Market Trend and Analysis as well as deal with their major factories out of China and India.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
Contribute to the sourcing and procurement of quality products in line with brand, customer expectations and sales targets through market analysis, contract administration and developing and maintaining trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
Lead importer through building brand awareness, reputation management and by working collaboratively across the business to drive financial performance and a superior customer experience.
Conduct range planning and analysis by interpreting sales and market trends, identifying purchasing needs, recommending product mix through research and coordinating the procurement of quality products in accordance with company guidelines.
Lead the negotiation and establishment of supply arrangements by determining product and supply needs, seeking any required clarification, evaluating existing suppliers and identifying and assessing potential new suppliers against selection criteria.
Provide ongoing guidance and support to Product Coordinator so standards and deadlines are met by setting clear expectations, assist in problem solving, identify any training needs.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Business (Procurement), Merchandising, International Trade, Fashion Buying or Retail Management desirable or equivalent work experience.
Must have Product Development, International Sourcing and Trend Analysis preferably in a Wholesale or Retail Setting, ideally within Homewares or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods.
Must be able to speak Mandarin as you will be working closely with Chinese suppliers, manufacturers and factories.
Experience with contemporary business systems including the MS Office suite and Microsoft Dynamics 365 desirable.
Your passion, interest and enthusiasm towards product development and working with closely with key internal and external stakeholders will be critical.
Position Specific Requirements
Candidates must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa to be eligible to apply.
Fluency in Mandarin is a MUST , Cantonese, Hindi, Tamil or Telugu advantageous.
Appointments will be subject to a satisfactory National Police check.
Current drivers' licence and appropriate vehicle.
The successful candidate will be employed pursuant to the relevant modern award and this organisations employment policies.
Earn between $90,000 to $120,000 depending on your experience.
