About The Role: You will be responsible for coaching, mentoring, and ensuring design quality across the team.
Working closely with the Head of Product to shape and optimise design workflows and lead design evaluations, focusing on maintaining excellence in design output and adherence to brand and UI standards.
This role emphasises leadership, providing high-level design oversight and aligning design strategies with business goals.
The Product Design Lead is critical in driving team performance, stepping in on significant projects when needed, and ensuring design thinking is integrated into the product roadmap.
Additionally, this role oversees resourcing and hiring efforts for the design team, though final decisions rest with the Head of Product.
You'll have the opportunity to: Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to the design team, helping them refine their craft and grow professionally.
Work closely with the Head of Product to enhance and implement effective design workflows.
Oversee design evaluations to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and maintain consistency across all product areas.
Take ownership of high-visibility or complex design projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met with exceptional quality.
Provide strategic direction and oversight as needed during critical project phases.
Set and maintain high design quality and innovation standards.
Regularly assess team processes and outputs to ensure alignment with business goals while pushing for best practices and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular design reviews to uphold the highest standards of quality and brand alignment.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging the team to elevate their design practices.
What we're looking for: Proven experience in product design, with a focus on leadership and design quality.
Experience mentoring and developing design teams.
Strong ability to conduct design reviews and uphold brand and UI consistency.
Expertise in aligning design strategy with business and product objectives.
Advanced proficiency in Figma and design system management.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Salary Banding: $130,000 - $150,000 + Super Our Ways of Working: We believe in fostering a healthy work-life balance.
Our Brisbane-based hybrid model offers the best of both worlds, collaboration and connection in our office (3 days/week) and the flexibility of working from home (2 days/week).
We also embrace flexible working hours with core collaboration times from 10 am-2 pm.
