Our client is a leading photographic retailer, wholesaler, product manager, and distributor, representing top brands such as Canon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Sony, Olympus, and Panasonic. Our client is passionate about supplying both businesses and members with a comprehensive range of photographic products.
We are seeking a dynamic Product Category Manager to oversee our client's photographic hardware and accessories product range. This role will be pivotal in shaping their buying strategy and driving growth within the business. The ideal candidate will be focused on increasing sales, profit margins, market share, and product availability while identifying new B2B opportunities to expand their hardware and accessories offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing & Negotiation: Manage sourcing, terms negotiation, and purchasing for hardware brands.
Industry Networking: Act as an agent for customers by networking within the photographic industry and negotiating with partner suppliers to secure the best products and services at competitive prices.
Exclusive Opportunities: Explore and identify exclusive sourcing opportunities both locally and overseas.
Budget Management: Plan and manage monthly budgets, reflecting sales performance and stock levels.
Supplier Planning: Undertake quarterly business planning sessions with suppliers to align on strategies and objectives.
Promotional Strategy: Create and execute a promotional calendar to boost product visibility and sales.
Marketing & PR: Prepare and manage marketing briefs and public relations for the product range.
Store Visits: Conduct occasional store visits to assess product placement and customer feedback.
Retail Propositions: Provide retail range propositions and develop planograms to enhance product presentation.
Data Analysis: Review sales data and conduct SKU analysis to inform inventory decisions.
Warranty Management: Manage warranties and returns, ensuring a seamless process for customers.
Budget Presentation: Present an annual budget and manage expenditures accordingly.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure optimal outcomes for the organisation.
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualifications in Business or Purchasing or a related discipline.
Proven experience in product management, preferably within the photographic or electronics industry or have an absolute passion for photography.
Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and B2B partners.
Strong negotiation skills and business acumen.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for photography and related technology is a plus.
