Job details Location: Wollongong Salary: $40 per hour Job Type: Contract Discipline: Procurement Reference: V-120427 Posted: 13 days ago Share this job Job description Procurement Support Officer (Grade 3/4) - NSW Government Contract Immediate start, ideally before Christmas Initial contract through to 28th March 2025 with the view to extend and opportunity to apply for the permanent position $40 per hour + super Wollongong location/Hybrid - 3 days per week required in the office (Wednesdays are required on site, the other two days are flexible) Full time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week This large Government department within the emergency services sector is currently seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated and innovative Administration professional with experience in procurement and purchasing processes.
You will be reporting to the Procurement, Governance and Contracts Coordinator, working within a friendly and supportive team which offers hybrid working flexibility.
This is a contract position with an immediate start with the potential to extend and apply for the permanent opportunity.
We are looking for someone who is a quick learner and able to hit the ground running with exceptional data entry and processing skills.
Day to day responsibilities include but not limited to: Receiving and reviewing purchasing requests Processing requests according to the required procedures and being able to determine where escalation and additional approval is required Taking enquiries over the phone and email Records and database management Data entry and processing Creating purchase orders Managing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders Other ad-hoc administration tasks as required Skills/Experience: Previous experience is essential, Government experience is beneficial Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal Great attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities Previous experience in a purchasing/procurement environment Ability to make decisions regarding processing or escalation Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Strong administration skills For further information or interest in the role, please email a copy of your resume to Brooke Dover at ****** APPLICATIONS CLOSING SOON.
