This role is pivotal in ensuring value-for-money contracts across a diverse range of high-value projects that benefit the community.
You will oversee tendering and contract management activities in compliance with legislative requirements, government guidelines, and council policies.Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and management of Request for Tender (RFT), Request for Quotation (RFQ), and Expression of Interest (EOI) processes.
Ensure all procurement and contract activities comply with relevant legislation and council policies.
Manage contract documents and ensure a value-for-money outcome for the council.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain strong professional relationships.
Oversee evaluation panels and ensure procurement methodologies and probity are adhered to.
Lead special projects and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement branch.
Essential Criteria: Demonstrated experience in government procurement, including tendering and contract management.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, and report-writing skills.
Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research and present information effectively.
Relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications in Government Procurement and Contracting (Cert IV or Diploma).
Desirable Criteria Experience in a public sector organization.
Familiarity with electronic tendering systems and contract evaluation software.
Understanding of the Local Government Act 1993 and related regulations.
