About the opportunity: In this key position, you will play a critical role in implementing procurement strategies, developing effective relationships with suppliers, and optimising procurement outcomes to support the company's strategic and operational requirements.
Detailed responsibilities include:
Identifying cost-saving opportunities and initiating projects and initiatives at all operational levels.Building strong business partner relationships with the businesses to strengthen the credibility of the procurement team and influence procurement decisions & outcomes.Collaborating with Category Management to negotiate agreements on local volumes, processes, quality levels, and prices.Supporting the RFx process as defined by category strategy.Executing contracts that optimise benefits to the company, such as performance-based contracts.Developing an excellent understanding of how the business units function and using this knowledge to maximise procurement's ability to add value to the business.Setting benefit targets and ensuring they are achieved for a set portfolio of spend categories.Performing regional spot buying for special request items not covered by existing agreements.Tracking and reporting supplier performance and KPIs.Analysing and interpreting operational spend data to identify opportunities for improvement.Ensuring compliance with national and regional category strategies and company requirements.Championing new ideas and initiatives to drive change and innovation in procurement.Complying with safety, health, and environmental regulations and policies.About You: Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Business, Economics, or Engineering.Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification is desirable.Good category knowledge (markets, usage, TCO, should-cost models, etc.)
and knowledge of financial concepts, budget management, and cost reduction initiatives.Credible experience in strategic sourcing and operational buying.Previous experience in a related environment is preferred.Strong 'end to end' experience and ability.Expertise in supplier management and engineering-focused solutions.Passionate advocate of a cost-conscious culture.Strong analytical and execution skills with an understanding of key cost drivers.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong negotiation and influencing skills.An analytical mindset with a focus on cost reduction and financial concepts.A good understanding of market dynamics, total cost of ownership, and budget management.Proficiency in MS Office, including strong Excel skills.Knowledge of SAP or equivalent procurement software.This is an outstanding opportunity to join our high-performing team and to contribute to our world-leading business.
