About the RoleThe Procurement Specialist plays a vital role within the Finance and Corporate Services department, reporting to the Procurement Lead. This position is responsible for leading and managing end-to-end sourcing activities, providing expert guidance, and supporting Triple Zero Victoria's (TZV) procurement operations. As a key player in optimizing procurement processes, the Procurement Specialist ensures the seamless availability of goods and services essential to TZV's objectives.
The role involves overseeing sourcing events, identifying cost-saving opportunities, creating competitive environments, negotiating with suppliers, and managing contracts to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the procurement function.
This position requires advanced commercial acumen, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage high-value or high-risk sourcing activities. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for delivering value for money outcomes across all TZV business units while adhering to procurement policies, procedures, and Victorian Government Procurement Board principles. Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Procurement, the role includes undertaking complex and non-complex procurement planning, tendering, and contract management, with a focus on process improvements to enhance strategic sourcing, procurement, and contract management across the organisation.
Day to day responsibilities include:
Lead and manage end-to-end sourcing activities, providing expert guidance and support to optimize TZV's procurement processes.Oversee sourcing events, identify cost-saving opportunities, create competitive environments, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure value for money.Manage contracts and procurement activities, ensuring the seamless availability of goods and services required to support TZV's objectives.Demonstrate advanced commercial acumen and strong negotiation skills to handle high-value or high-risk sourcing activities.Support all TZV business units by ensuring compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and Victorian Government Procurement Board principles, while driving process improvements in strategic sourcing and contract management.About YouThe successful applicant for this role will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Relevant tertiary or industry qualifications in procurement, finance, law, contract management, project management, or supply chain.Extensive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, focusing on procurement strategy, vendor management, and contract negotiations.Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, industry trends, regulations, and financial management systems, with significant experience in strategic sourcing.Advanced negotiation skills with the ability to lead supplier negotiations and finalize contracts.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical abilities, organisational and project management skills, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.What We Can Offer YouYou will be supporting a critical service to the Victorian community and will be rewarded with a competitive salary, flexible working arrangements and employee benefits including:
