Early December Start Melbourne CBD location/Working from Home Arrangement About the role Government department seeks an experienced Procurement Specialist to join them on short-term assignment for a duration of up to a period of 5 months based in Melbourne CBD with an early December start.
As the Procurement Specialist, you will provide expertise, advice and assistance relating to the Group's procurement activities including developing various sourcing strategies and supplier relationship.
As the Procurement Specialist, you will support business units with the procurement process using the skills necessary to identify saving opportunities, creatively negotiate with suppliers, and generate contracts to ensure seamless availability of products and services needed to support departmental project managers and objectives.
Key Responsibilities Your key tasks and responsibilities will include: providing expert advice to the Group on completing Complexity Assessments and Pathways to Approvals, preparation of RFx, negotiating Best and Final Offer (BaFO) procedures and any other procurement processes and procedures overseeing the release of RFx through Vendor Panel/Digital Marketplace facilitating contract execution with relevant parties and the debriefing of all proponents (successful and unsuccessful) to an RFx process ensuring maintenance of a master list of procurement engagements being managed by the PMO to assist in team workload management, reporting on progress and keeping auditable records ensuring maintenance of a quarterly rolling calendar of future procurements for the Group and liaise with Corporate Services Group to meet public reporting requirements creating regular dashboard reports identifying all contracts being managed by the Group and detailing status and other relevant information to assist decision making developing procurement capability strategies targeting the Group that utilise the development of Quick Reference Guides that compliment existing Central Procurement supports and guidance materials and provision of general and targeted training materials Key Selection Criteria The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include: Demonstrated knowledge of procurement practices and procedures, including capacity to understand and apply the Victorian Government Purchasing Board guidelines.
An appropriate tertiary qualification or extensive experience in procurement and contract management is highly desirable.
