The Procurement Specialist is a member of the Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for the category management, sourcing and procurement of certain mechanical and electronic components from external vendors, and for managing on-time delivery and technical and vendor quality issues.
Primary Duties:
Analysing specifications and drawings, and sourcing and requesting quotes for supply of make-to-order materials and components for EOS Defence System production requirements. Liaise with relevant EOS DS stakeholders to resolve queries and to ensure all required information is available to complete the RFQ and purchase process. Selection of appropriate vendors for the supply of make-to-order materials in accordance with the Category Plan. Negotiation of pricing and lead time with selected vendors to meet project and production requirements. Maintain awareness of vendor lead times to deliver items critical to production. Negotiate changes to lead times with vendors as required. Work with Production Planners to ensure adequate stock levels are held to align with the Production Schedule to meet company objectives. Creating an appropriate delivery schedule when raising Purchase Orders (quantity, batch, and delivery dates) to meet Production demand. Where the requirement to onboard new suppliers is identified, undertake vendor checks and onboarding activities. Expediting of open orders with vendors to meet required delivery dates, including liaising with vendors to understand delays and keeping the ERP system and stakeholders up to date with amended delivery dates. Communicate with vendors regarding specification and quality issues and request concessions from EOS DS' Engineering stakeholders. Communication of quality inspection requirements to vendors (eg. First Article). Desired Skills and Experience About You
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and Bills of Materials. Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing trade or degree qualification. APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Certified Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) highly regarded. CIPS accreditations highly regarded. How to Apply
