Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Full time Queensland Hydro is a publicly owned entity established by the Queensland Government to design, deliver, operate and maintain long duration pumped hydro energy storage assets that will be the cornerstone for the transformation of the state's energy system.
The organisation will drive delivery of world-class pumped hydro assets to provide the long-term storage and reliability needed to power Queensland's clean energy future.
The organisation will play a critical role in assisting the Queensland Government to meet its renewable energy targets and net zero emissions by 2050, supporting the shift in the Australian economy to a decarbonised energy system.
Purpose This role sits within the QLD Hydro Corporate Services which supports the provision of strategic sourcing services, including governance and oversight, the planning and sourcing of goods and services in support of the delivery of the QLD Hydro strategic priorities.
In this role, you will: Identify, determine, and respond to internal stakeholder needs regarding procurement requests and customer enquiries.
Lead end-to-end tender and procurement processes for activities allocated by the Procurement Leads including the drafting of tender strategies, preparing tender documentation, evaluating tender submissions, contract negotiations, contract execution and contract management.
Establish robust contracts to support best practice contract and supplier management.
Highlight risks and opportunities linked to supply status & changing demand.
Document defensible procurement outcomes and activities.
Recommend new processes or systems for improvement; implement new ideas and strategies.
About you To be successful in this position, you will ideally possess: Experience managing end-to-end procurement processes.
Experience within government or similar organisations.
Experience in large-scale project environments.
Expertise in corporate services expenditure categories.
Previous experience as a Procurement Specialist or in a similar role.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and management.
A keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A thorough understanding of procurement frameworks.
A solid understanding of probity and governance requirements in procurement.
