Your Responsibilities Manage and oversee the procurement process for mining operations, including the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials, equipment, and services.Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to ensure the best pricing, quality, and delivery timelines.Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., operations, engineering, and logistics) to forecast demand and coordinate procurement activities accordingly.Review and assess supplier performance, resolve any issues or disputes, and ensure compliance with contracts and agreements.Prepare and issue tender documents, conduct bid evaluations, and manage the selection of suppliers based on quality, cost, and lead time considerations.Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies regarding procurement activities.Maintain accurate procurement records and ensure proper documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement efficiency, cost savings, and supplier performance.Provide advice and recommendations on procurement strategies and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. What you'll need to succeed A minimum of 5-8 years of procurement experience, ideally within the mining industry. Proven experience in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services for mining operations.Strong understanding of procurement best practices, contract negotiation, and supply chain management.Knowledge of mining industry-specific requirements, including health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field will be advantageous.
