Opportunity for an experienced Procurement Officer to join a Local Government authority in the Northern suburbs | 2-month roleSupport the Procurement/Logistics/Supply Chain team within this local councilWork across various tenders, coordinating and evaluating tender submissionsNorthern suburbs | 2-month contract | close to public transport | $54phAbout the company:Reporting into the coordinator of Procurement, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supporting the Council's procurement and contract management activities. This involves working closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure value for money and deliver mutually beneficial outcomes for the Council, all within a strong governance framework.Your key responsibilities include:Coordinate and manage strategic procurement plans and contract management processes, collaborating with key stakeholders on services and works projects.Provide high-level advice and support to management and departmental officers on procurement and contracting activities in line with the Local Government Act and Procurement Policy framework.Develop and maintain key procurement and contract management documentation, including tendering plans, evaluation matrices, registers, and intranet resources.Drive cost reduction and sustainability initiatives, ensuring value for money and alignment with environmental goals.Ensure robust governance, risk management, and compliance with procurement policies, including implementing audits, assurance systems, and training programs.You will have the following:Previous Local Government experience highly regarded.A tertiary qualification in business, commerce, procurement, or a related field, or a combination of relevant knowledge and significant experience in procurement.Proven experience in a similar procurement role.Demonstrated expertise in procurement, contract management, and contract administration.Experience in developing, reviewing, and editing a variety of tender and contract documents.Strong background in coordinating and evaluating tender submissions, with a comprehensive understanding of tender evaluation processes and associated probity requirements.Benefits:Grow your Local Government knowledge and understanding.Work with a Community based organisation and help drive and deliver change.Please note you will need to obtain a police check before commencing this role.If you are interested in this role, please APPLY today or email this position is not correct for you but you have experience working in Local Government, please still do get in touch; we have numerous positions within council.At Charterhouse, we embrace, and value, diversity of culture, working arrangements, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
