Toll has teamed up with the Commonwealth to develop a scalable and agile solution that enhances the purchase and distribution process.
As a Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in order placement and management.
Under the guidance of the Operations Manager, you will oversee daily procurement activities within the CRP contract, ensuring timely supply of goods to our end customers.
This key position supports the Commonwealth in reducing the cost of ownership for Defense commodities by applying 'smart buyer' principles.
You'll help simplify the procurement, delivery, and management of these vital resources.
To be successful as the Procurement Officer, you will need to: Promptly handle and follow up on all Commonwealth enquiriesAdhere to TRL and Commonwealth procedures, and identify and resolve potential service issues with Sourcing and Transport teamsProactively inform customers of any issues affecting service standards and produce required service reports for major customersSupport the Operations Manager in improving procedures and technology for better information flow to customers, and embrace customer service systems/processesFoster teamwork within the department and across the business, and liaise with Commonwealth customers to reinforce commitment to high customer service levelsManage order placement, supply/demand alignment, material replenishment, and supplier performance; monitor expenses against budgets and maintain excellent relations with customers, suppliers, and contractorsAbout You: Operational Procurement experience in a similar environmentOccasional weekend and after-hours work may be required.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, negotiation, and presentation abilities, with a proven capacity to establish and maintain effective empathy and rapport with personnel at all levels, both within and external to Toll.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage customer interactions, excel in customer service, solve problems analytically, and utilize ERP systems (such as SAP) and Microsoft Office/Excel in a supply chain environment with strong attention to detail.Proficient in using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for business management, with a strong understanding of expectations, company organisation structures, and reporting lines, combined with practical experience in a customer service/operational environment and the ability to develop further.You must be entitled to work in Australia and be prepared to undertake pre-employment checks including a criminal history check and medical.
