About The Company/role
Our client is a well-recognised pharmaceutical organisation with a strong presence in the Australian market. They are seeking to appoint a Procurement Officer to join their team on a permanent full-time basis. Company located in the Southeastern suburbs of Melbourne Monday – Friday, standard working hours
Duties
Reporting to the Analytical & Stability Manager, you will mainly be responsible for purchasing laboratory consumable and items in a timely manner. Your main responsibilities may include:
Ordering of laboratory consumables using SAP software Reviewing laboratory stock levels Receiving of laboratory orders Liaising and communicating with equipment suppliers (e.g. following up on orders, negotiating prices/contracts) Ensuring expenditure of consumables is in line with budget requirements Reviewing laboratory systems to ensure the most efficient processes are in place Completing administrative duties
About You
Tertiary qualification in a Scientific related discipline would be highly regarded, but supply chain/purchasing experience also considered in lieu of this Experience in a procurement related position would be desirable Experience using an ERP system (e.g. SAP) Excellent communication skills and ability to use initiative Strong problem solving and analytical skills Experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably pharmaceuticals or a GMP manufacturing environment (highly regarded)
