In this role, you will work as an integral part of the Procurement team, managing procurement activities to support a wide range of assets and inventory requirements for both internal and external stakeholders.
The Procurement Officer will engage with the team to identify, anticipate and respond to procurement needs to achieve capability development and sustainment outcomes.
You will be accountable under the direction of the Procurement Manager to support and perform complex to very complex procurement activities.
This is a permanent full-time position, based in either Melbourne or Canberra.
This position will require an active AGSVA NV1 clearance and the successful candidate must be willing to upgrade to an NV2.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in market research activities and support the development of the overall Procurement Strategy.
Support the Procurement Manager in the development, preparation, review and evaluation of procurement-related documentation, including but not limited to endorsement to proceed, Section 23 approvals, request for quote, budget cost models, and other procurement-related documentation.
Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from the determination to the payment of invoices, utilising relevant Logistics Information Systems used by Defenc Provide advice and guidance in procurement planning, preparation, management, tendering and contract formation whilst ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes, and procedures.
Support the Procurement Manager in the development and preparation of procurement and contract performance/compliance measurement data.
Engage and negotiate with clients and stakeholders, responding to issues and taking the initiative to identify alternate actions where necessary.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge: Direct knowledge and previous experience in Defence/Commonwealth procurement, finance or commercial processes System/Software Experience including My Finance Portal (MyFi), Military Integrated Logistics Information System (MILIS), and/or Systems, Applications and Products (SAP)/Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
