Join the dynamic team with our client as an APS6 equivalent Procurement Officer.
APS6 equivalent payrate $60+p/h plus super Located in Brisbane, Queensland About the Team The Procurement and Corporate Services Branch provides essential support by delivering corporate, procurement, and property services.
The Procurement team partners with business areas to procure goods and services while ensuring compliance with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and organisational policies.
Focused on delivering value-for-money outcomes, the team fosters collaboration, provides expert advice, and drives process improvements to support organisational goals effectively.
About the Role As an APS6 Procurement Officer , you will work collaboratively across business areas as a procurement partner, ensuring our processes comply with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and internal policies.
You will manage complex procurement activities, provide specialist advice, and contribute to strategic planning and reporting.
This position requires leadership, the ability to set priorities, and effective workflow management.
You will have autonomy to exercise initiative and judgment while interpreting legislation and policy to deliver quality outcomes.
Collaborating with business areas to develop and execute procurement strategies, including preparing documentation, evaluating tenders, and negotiating contracts.
Managing procurement reporting and verification activities, and processing procurements through financial management systems.
Maintaining and implementing procurement and contract management policies, procedures, and frameworks.
Providing specialist advice on procurement matters, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and delivering value for money.
Supporting procurement planning activities across the organisation.
Monitoring team activities to ensure high-quality outputs and maintaining team cohesion.
Advising internal and external stakeholders with timely and accurate reporting and guidance.
About you To thrive in this role, you need: Demonstrated understanding of federal or state government procurement processes.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite at an intermediate level.
Experience managing high-volume requests and multitasking effectively.
Resilience and composure in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Experience using procurement, HR, and/or project management systems.
Prior experience in managing staff.
Be able to pass and hold national police check and worker screening check.
Must be an Australian Citizen.
