Because together, we can create a better world.The OpportunityAs we continue to innovate and expand our operations in Glass manufacturing, we are seeking a diligent and proactive individual to play a pivotal role in leading, managing and administering the Yatala Glass procurement activities for local purchasing via purchase order according to the project delegation structure.Visy's total spend is AU$2.8B with a vendor base in excess of 10,000; of which Global Procurement manages a trade spend of AU$1.5B and 6,000 vendors.Reporting to the Capital Procurement Manager Infrastructure and based at our Yatala (QLD) site you will be a part of Visy Global Procurement, a high performing team with 50+ staff operating across Australia, NZ, Singapore and China.The RoleAs the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for delivering commercial benefits to Visy via cost savings, cost avoidance, working capital improvements and continuous improvement projects that contribute to Global Procurement's annual savings target and Divisional Profit Improvement Plans (PIP's).Your Key Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Lead, manage and administer the Yatala Glass procurement activities for local purchasing via purchase order according to the project delegation structure.The Procurement Manager will: Work with the Project team to finalise the Tender documentation to be issued to potential vendorsIdentify and screen suitable vendors for each procurement packageWork with the project team to review, analyse and decide on package awardBuild strong purchasing relationships with local vendorsNegotiate rates and tender pricing for day-to-day and low risk purchasing activitiesEscalate negotiations on price and Terms & Conditions to Corporate Capital Procurement and Corporate Legal as per the project delegation manual and as required for smaller, low risk purchasing.Ensure timely completion of procurement activities as per project scheduleDrive the best value for project outcomes in every aspect of the local procurement activitiesManage the purchasing officer(s) to ensure that all purchase orders are scrutinised for scope, cost and schedule.Ensure that purchasing use the best vendor for the project and all due diligence activities are in place for probity outcomes.Build strong relationships with the Project team and Corporate Services To be considered you must have: Minimum 10 years experience in purchasingProven experience as a Procurement Manager or in a similar procurement role within the logistics warehousing/ transportation industry.Strong negotiation and contract management skills.Project Management capabilitiesExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, working effectively with cross-functional teams.Experience using SAP, Advanced Excel, and Power BI would be advantageous.Leadership and team management experience.
