About the role
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee the purchasing activities of our portfolio companies.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing strategic supplier relationships, driving cost-efficiency, and developing best practices and standards in the procurement function for all goods and services purchased.
This role requires strong analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and leadership to drive good procurement outcomes.
This is a full-time position based in Sydney or Brisbane.
What you'll be doing Develop Procurement Strategies: Create and execute procurement strategies that align with company goals, focusing on cost savings, supplier quality, and risk management.Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
Negotiate contracts and terms to ensure favourable outcomes for our portfolio companies.Inventory Management: Work closely with the inventory and production teams to ensure optimal stock levels and avoid shortages or overstock situations.Cost Control: Analyse purchasing and market trends to continuously review and optimize input pricing.Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and manage supply agreements, service-level agreements, and payment terms with vendors and suppliers.Risk Management: Identify potential supply chain risks, review alternative supply arrangements, and diversify supplier base to derisk supply chain and minimize disruptions.Performance Metrics: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure procurement effectiveness, supplier performance, and cost savings.Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the procurement team, identify gaps in talent, processes, and systems and devise plan to fill gaps.What we're looking for Significant experience (8+ years) in a procurement or supply chain management role within the manufacturing or logistics industry.Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar procurement budgets and supplier contracts.Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimise procurement processes and drive cost savings.Proficient in using procurement and inventory management software and data analysis tools.Familiarity with supply chain best practices, sourcing strategies and lean procurement principles.Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or a related field.What we offer
