Job Description - Procurement & Logistics Officer (262025) The Opportunity: UGL Utilities division is seeking an experienced Procurement and Logistics Officer for a Power Station project based in the Hunter Valley region. This is a 6 month fixed-term, full time contract with a potential to extend.
The Project: Located in the small suburb of Loxford in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, approximately three km north of the town of Kurri Kurri, and approximately 35 km west of Newcastle and 125 km north of Sydney.
The Hunter Power Station Project is expected to have approximately 660 megawatts and will be generated via two heavy-duty open cycle gas turbines, and the turbines functionality will be incorporated into the facility.
Some key responsibilities of this role will include: Ensure safe working conditions for all individuals by adhering to safety procedures, using personal protective equipment, reporting hazards, and contributing to safety planning and assessments.Actively participate in safety meetings, training, and reporting while supporting the development of safety-related documentation for reports and proposals.Coordinate, track, and process invoices using SAP and VIMS, ensuring approvals, variance resolution, and timely payment.Assist managers and the Finance & Commercial Team with invoice approvals, dispatch, and ad hoc tasks to maintain efficient project support.Maintain a professional attitude and appearance, adhere to UGL systems and standards, and ensure a well-organised, safe workspace.Actively participate in inductions, training, and development programs while monitoring and enhancing site-specific systems and procedures to align with best practices.About You: Prior experience in a high-volume environment based on-site.Previous experience in a similar role.Ability to work unsupervised or requiring minimal supervision.Leadership ability.What makes you right for UGL: You proactively seek to continuously improve performance, deliverables and work efficiencies.You display a positive approach to safety.Effective verbal and written communication capability.High level of personal resilience and persistence.Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.You're customer focused, team oriented, accountable and results driven.Ability and willingness to adapt, quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing structure, process, information and/or technology.Excellent relationship building, problem solving, negotiation and leadership skills.About Us: UGL is well-known and respected for providing end-to-end engineering, construction, and maintenance services within, rail and transport, communications and technology systems, oil and gas, power, renewables and resources, water, and defence markets.
