About the Opportunity We have opportunities for three Procurement Leads in the following areas: Procurement Lead - Construction Tooling Procurement Lead - Submarine Construction Yard (SCY) Fabrication and Materials Procurement Lead - SCY Portable Equipment The purpose of these positions is to manage strategic procurement activities in support of the SSN AUKUS Build Program within ASC and its supply chain.
They will develop, deliver or support business critical category strategies and related sourcing activities through proactive engagement with key business stakeholders and the external market to ensure value for money outcomes.
The roles represent a rare opportunity to work on the pioneering SSN AUKUS Build Program, delivering an essential sovereign capability for Australia.
Responsibilities Lead engagement with strategic suppliers and undertake contracting and procurement activity at all levels.
This will include: defining strategic sourcing strategies, project strategies, schedule planning, coordinate contracting and procurement activities ensuring value for money and delivery on time while managing subcontractor risk.
Further responsibilities include: Sourcing a process to run a competitive or sole source process to down select a preferred supplier to conduct negotiations Prepare a negotiation plan that clearly sets the best case to worst case negotiated outcomes, for new contracts and significant variations Seek, review and approve the negotiation plan Conduct negotiations using project/SME representatives Engage with the Procurement leadership and the project leadership groups to keep them informed of progress Provide good governance to ensure the supplier is performing as required in accordance with the contract(s) or Purchase Order(s) About You? Tertiary qualification in commerce, law, supply chain or similar plus eligibility for membership of (CIPSA) Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Australia Minimum of 10 years demonstrated experience in a relevant Supply Chain role in a defence, manufacturing, or resource environment In-depth knowledge of category management, strategic sourcing and contracting principles and best practices Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong negotiation skills coupled with knowledge of enterprise risk management Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and business case development Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and other business value Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level.
Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
