Temporary full time opportunity to provide expert legal advice that is strategic, innovative and practical to assist Metro North Health in performing statutory functions and a broad range of procurement and commercial activities including equipment procurement, property matters, infrastructure projects, clinical services, information technology procurement and the hiring of contractors.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Research, analyse and provide expert legal advice to Metro North Chief Executive, Metro North Board, senior management, infrastructure project management team, Metro North Procurement Services, Commercial Activities on a wide range of procurement matters pertaining to equipment procurement, leases and licensing, infrastructure projects, clinical services, information technology procurement, the hiring of contractors, medical research, intellectual property and delegation.
Provide expert legal advice on indemnity and liability and application of insurance knowledge as they relate to Metro North legal arrangements with external parties.
Application of excellent contract analysis in the preparation, review and negotiation of legal agreements (including bespoke agreements) between Metro North Health and external parties around the matters of procurement, leasing/licensing/property and commercial matters.
Application of governing legislation such as the Hospital and Health Boards Act 2011, Financial Accountability Act 2009, Public Service Act 2008, Public Sector Ethics Act 1994, Public Health Act 2005, Human Rights Act 2019, Therapeutic Goods regime and government policies, procedures and directives.
Monitor trends in the Queensland public health sector procurement and contracting to ensure relevant changes are incorporated into health service templates, policies and procedures.
