What you'll be doing As a Category Manager – Procurement at Kmart Group, your responsibilities will include:
Collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements and develop procurement strategies that align with business objectives. Managing the procurement lifecycle from sourcing to contract management and supplier performance evaluation. Leading high-value negotiations to secure optimal terms and conditions for procurement activities. Conducting market research to identify potential vendors and technologies, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships. Ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency in procurement activities while maintaining quality standards. Foster and manage strong relationships with vendors, ensuring alignment with Kmart's values and expectations. Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. Staying abreast of industry trends and technological advancements to drive continuous improvement in procurement practices. To be successful in this role you'll have: 7+ years extensive experience in procurement in a retail or similar fast-paced environment. Proven ability to influence stakeholders and lead high-value negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external partners. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to make informed decisions and optimize procurement processes. Experience with procurement technology and systems to enhance efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
