Our client AGL is seeking a Procurement Category Manager to join their team on a contract basis, supporting their operational sites.
They are at the forefront of energy innovation, driving sustainable solutions across Australia.
As part of this mission, you'll have the chance to work in a collaborative, hybrid environment while contributing to the success of critical operational sites in the Hunter Valley region.
Key Purpose of the Role: As a Procurement Category Manager, you'll ensure maximum value is derived from AGL's external spend.
Your expertise in strategic sourcing, disciplined negotiations, and contract stewardship will enable the business to thrive.
Your Core Responsibilities: Plan, prioritize, and adapt to dynamic project requirements while managing multiple initiatives.
Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret impacts and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies, incorporating risk management and negotiation planning.
Utilize ERP systems like SAP or Ariba to streamline sourcing activities.
Draft precise contracts and governance documents that capture favorable commercial outcomes.
Conduct detailed supplier and market analyses, including cost and risk assessments.
Build and maintain robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.
What You Bring: Proven Procurement Expertise: Experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Sourcing roles, from sourcing to contract execution.
Industry Insight: Exposure to Industrial, Mining, Operations, or Manufacturing sectors is highly regarded.
Strategic Mindset: Expertise in developing commercial arrangements and capturing outcomes in contracts.
Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with SAP, Ariba, and advanced MS Excel skills.
Results-Oriented: A track record of identifying and delivering cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
Resilience & Collaboration: Ability to navigate complexity, work transparently, and maintain calm under pressure.
Compliance Focus: Adherence to internal and external standards with a high level of integrity.
