About the Role An excellent career development opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Category Adviser to join the Santos team. Based at our Global Headquarters in Adelaide, this position delivers business benefits through effective development and execution of sourcing strategies, category plans, contract management and supplier management. This will be delivered through the application of industry and company knowledge, procurement competency and outstanding stakeholder engagement. The role will undertake sound contracts and procurement work, for assigned categories that contribute to Santos' competitive advantage and meet its business objectives.Key accountabilities include: Perform sourcing and contract management for key categories – Chemicals, Industrial Gases, Fuels & Consumables (~$45m spend value) across all assets to deliver sustained value to the company.Work collaboratively with multiple key stakeholders to ensure business needs are understood and sourcing strategies aligned.Identify and deliver cost and business efficiency outcomes.Develop negotiation plans in collaboration with Procurement Team Leader and stakeholders, ensuring pre-approval for possible fallback positions and authority to negotiate effective outcomes. Lead negotiations and work with negotiation teams to ensure a united approach.Managing and maintaining health of assigned contracts in line with the approved category strategy.Ensure security of supply through effective risk identification and mitigationAbout YouHolding a Tertiary qualification in engineering, law, business or supply chain management and ideally Certificate / Member status of CIPS or equivalent, it is essential that interested candidates can demonstrate the following skills and experience:Previous experience in oil and gas, heavy manufacturing, or similar industry is preferred.Extensive procurement experience and knowledge in Procurement, Category Management and / or Strategic Sourcing.Experience in Commercial Negotiations, Contract Terms and Conditions, Supplier Relationship Management.Experience in managing multiple stakeholders across various geographical locations.Further to this any experience in the following will be looked upon favourably:Previous experience working with systems and tools such as SAP and CoupaThis role will suit agile and adaptable individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment and enjoy the challenge of managing a variety of stakeholders, from those at GM level and above, as well Engineers and Technical SME's.
