At John Holland, our purpose is simple – we transform lives with everything we do.We've always known that infrastructure is about people — our customers, our employees, and the communities in which we work every day.Be part of the team that's up for the challenge of transforming lives for good.About the projectJohn Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.About the roleYou will be responsible for preparing, issuing, and following up on proposals, requisitions, purchase orders and other required documentation for the procurement of goods and services to enable the successful delivery of the Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3 project (GCLR3).Responsibilities of the role includeConsult with the Delivery Team on its business needs including the supply of goods requiredBe familiar with the nature of the goods and co-ordinate with the Delivery TeamCoordinate the allocation of cost coding on the Purchase Requisition for the goods with the Delivery TeamMonitor the approval of Purchase RequisitionsCommunicate with the Delivery Team and liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations for the supply of goodsCompare and critically analyse pricing quotations for the supply of goods and propose the preferred supplierNegotiate and agree terms and conditions with the supplier of goods including all necessary flow down from the Head ContractSet up suppliers in Vendors Online, prepare and issue manual purchase orders in PCRNotify preferred suppliers to proceed to purchaseAs required by the Commercial Manager coordinate with the Senior material Co-ordinator to track the receipt of goods from the supplierCo-ordinate with the Delivery Team to ensure the supplier is effectively performing its obligations under the Purchase Order and inform the Commercial Manager accordinglyCo-ordinate with the Delivery Team variations to the Purchase Order (if any) and issue any variation instruction to the SupplierResolve minor disputes with suppliers of goods in a timely mannerPerform all duties in accordance with Gold Coast Light Rail Sustainability and wellbeing policies, processes, systems and procedures including our Corporate Sustainability FrameworkAssist the Delivery Team to expedite goods where requiredPerform the role of the asset administrationBuild and maintain close relationships with the Delivery Team to expedite timely day to day supply of goodsTo be successful in this role, you will haveTertiary qualifications in business, commerce, procurement, contract management or a relevant fieldAdministrative/governance practices and procedures of procurementRecord management, documentation and probityIntermediate to advanced computer literacy skills5+ years' experience in either project-based engineering, contract administration or procurement function, a portion of which in civil constructionAnalytical and strong organisational skills and demonstrated procurement and contract management practices to enable optimal and cost-effective solutionsAbility to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAs part of the team, you help us deliver on our promise to transform livesYour success is reflected in ours, so we're committed to being an employer of choice.
