Assure that authorisation protocols have been followed and contracts or production agreements have been signed before commencement.Ensure optimum pricing and terms: Work diligently to secure the best price and terms for goods and services. Make certain that these goods meet quality requirements and specifications and are available at the needed time and place.Undertake negotiations with providers: Actively negotiate with selected suppliers to settle on agreed prices, availability, customisation possibilities, delivery schedules, warranties, payment terms, and claims terms.Maintain system and documentation: Keep up-to-date records and documentation for each transaction and maintain the procurement system for efficient tracking and accountancy.About You:The successful candidate will demonstrate:High levels of business acumen and understanding of commercial practices.A proven ability to work independently, organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.Advanced knowledge of procurement and inventory control methods and practices.Experience in contract negotiation and administration.Exposure to manufacturing/engineering environments and experience in interpreting technical drawings to determine component/material specifications.Strong communication skills, including effective negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to establish working relationships with people at various levels both internally and externally.Proficiency in using computers, particularly MS Word, Excel, and ERP systems (SAP).Previous working experience in safety-critical environments such as rail, automotive, military, defence, or avionics.What We Offer:Inclusive Culture: We foster a workplace where people are empowered to succeed and their contributions are celebrated.Professional Development: Grow your leadership skills with ongoing professional development opportunities.Collaborative Environment: Be part of a team that values diverse perspectives and innovative ideas.About UGL:UGL is a well-known and respected for providing end-to-end engineering, construction and maintenance services within rail and transport, communications and technology systems, oil and gas, power, renewables and resources, water and defence markets.
