Procurement Advisor, Business Operations Support$85,633 - $91,549 a year4 days ago, from National Indigenous Australians Agency NIAAOngoing & Non-ongoing for an initial period of up to 12 months, Flexible working arrangements will be consideredWoden, ACT preferred (however other NIAA office locations will be considered)Application Closing Date: 10-Nov-2024Classification: APS Level 5 ($85,633 - $91,549)Flexible Work: Flexible working arrangements will be consideredThe OpportunityThe National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic candidate with demonstrated commercial and/or procurement experience to join our Central Procurement Team. As a valued member of the Procurement team, you will work closely with line areas across the Agency to provide advice and support on a vast range of procurement activities with varied levels of complexity.You will use your procurement expertise to provide best practice advice to staff regarding policy and legislation as well as assisting with probity and contract management queries. You will help build Agency capability and strengthen confidence in utilising all aspects of the procurement framework. In addition, you will also play a major role in supporting procurement related reporting activities including key AusTender and Senate Order reporting.As the Procurement Advisor you will:Contribute to a culture that aligns with NIAA values and be dedicated to assisting in achieving quality program outcomes.Provide verbal and written advice to stakeholders in relation to their procurement and contracting activities.Ensure Agency procurement and contracting processes and procedures are compliant with the Commonwealth Procurement Framework.Prepare and assist in the coordination of procurement and contracting reports.Build productive relationships and inclusive networks through collaboration with industry and APS-wide stakeholders.Use Financial Management Systems (SAP/Finance1) to complete core work and reporting activities.Identify and contribute to a supportive procurement team that strengthens processes and drives outcomes for Indigenous Australians.Our Ideal CandidateOur ideal candidate is expected to demonstrate the following:Demonstrated experience or a keen interest in procurement and contracting.Strong customer service skills and the ability to build, develop and maintain relationships within NIAA, and the wider APS.Excellent communication, interpersonal, verbal and written skills.Well-developed ability to communicate with influence and support stakeholders.Ability to work with reasonable autonomy and accountability.Display initiative and judgement in policy interpretation and application of best practices.Demonstrated capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency.Identified PositionThis position is Identified which signifies that the role has strong involvement in matters relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. This position is required to liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and service providers. You will require cultural competency, including:Understanding of the matters impacting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.Demonstrated capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency.EligibilityTo be eligible for this position you must be an Australian Citizen.
