Job Description
To reduce our dependence on rainfall and groundwater and support the growing population, Water Corporation has formed the Alkimos SeaWater Alliance, which includes ACCIONA Construction Australia, ACCIONA Agua and Jacobs. The Alliance will design, construct, operate and maintain the Plant which will produce 50 billion litres of drinking water per year, with provision to expand by an additional 50 billion litres per year in the future. Construction of the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant has recently commenced and the project is expected to be completed in 2029.
The procurement administrator's role is to work within the Commercial Team to manage the timely supply of minor/medium value materials and services for the specific project in order to facilitate the best possible project outcome with respect to cost, time and quality.
Responsibilities
Work with the commercial manager, area leads and site construction personnel to ensure timely purchase of required materials and services. Carry out commercial (cost, lead time, terms and conditions etc) assessment of quotations and provide recommendations.
Manage the contract tender process including issue of documentation for bid packages ensuring that all documentation include invitation letter, scope, drawings, specification etc.
Assist in the awarding and execution of all services and supply orders and agreements including, as required, organising and chairing package kick-off meetings.
Process payment claims and invoices, to enable payment to be processed by finance.
Research products / pricing as required and make recommendations on purchasing. Actively participate in identifying supply and subcontracts risks and finding solutions.
Place orders with Suppliers from requisitions prepared by construction team.
Ensure orders are followed up as necessary to ensure timely delivery and processing of delivery dockets into the cost management system.
Required Skills and Competencies
Experience within a procurement Admin/Officer role desirable
Experience with Microsoft Excel/Word and Outlook
Strong communication skills.
Ability to deal with multiple internal and external stakeholders
