Mill Operator
Glencore's McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class zinc-lead mine with a long future. You'll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process zinc, lead, and silver from our open cut mine. It is then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to our customers worldwide. Our customers use our essential commodities in everyday products for mobility, infrastructure, and communications.
About the role:
We are seeking an experienced Mill Operator to join our Metallurgy team, working a 7 days on, 7 nights on, 14 days off roster FIFO from Darwin. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assets within the concentrator and associated equipment to positively contribute to quality production outcomes.
Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Metallurgy Production Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
Safe, effective operation of concentrator assets, including: Primary grinding SAG and Ball, De-watering & filtration, Control room operations, Leaching plant. Contributing to a positive team culture in line with Glencore values, supporting others through mentoring and coaching where appropriate; Provide quality operation of assets meeting required KPIs and Metallurgy targets, complete all sampling, checks, cleaning, maintenance, housekeeping needs and tasks set. Compliance with all environmental and safe work practices. Successful applicant will have:
A strong safety focus. Basic mechanical knowledge. Ideally, 12 months mineral processing experience. Working at heights – (within 3 years). Confined Space (within 3 years). Tickets – Loader, Forklift, skid steer and non-slewing crane (Desirable). At MRM, we support the Northern Territory first, and Territorian applicants or those prepared to relocate.
