Position overview allnex invites you to join us as a PSM Specialist/Lead in Wacol, QLD. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of driving our safety and sustainability efforts. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all relevant safety, health, and environmental (SHE) activities—such as Process Safety Management (PSM), Risk Technology Evaluation (RTE), and Mechanical Integrity (MI)—are accurately recorded, actioned, and reported through our global digital platforms.
You'll also lead projects aimed at improving our SHE performance, helping us achieve new levels of safety and efficiency. Additionally, you will provide support for production management and technical roles when needed, making you an integral part of the team that keeps operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities Ensure PSM compliance: Implement and maintain effective Process Safety Management practices in accordance with relevant regulations and company policies. Conduct risk assessments: Initiate and lead risk assessments on operational activities to identify hazards and recommend appropriate controls. Develop safety procedures: Create, implement, and review safety procedures and protocols to enhance process safety and mitigate risks. Lead incident investigations: Assist in investigating process safety incidents, identifying root causes, and developing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Train employees: Provide training and guidance to staff on PSM principles, safety practices, and emergency response procedures. Collaborate with teams: Work closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safe operational practices and compliance with PSM requirements. Participate in audits: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to assess compliance with PSM standards and identify areas for improvement. Monitor safety performance: Track and report on key safety metrics, providing insights to management and recommending continuous improvement initiatives. Act as a safety advocate: Promote a culture of safety within the organization, encouraging employees to prioritize safety in all aspects of their work. Stay current with regulations: Keep up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to process safety management. Undertake additional projects or tasks as directed by the SHE Manager.
Required skills and experience 1-5 years of experience in Process Safety Management within the chemical manufacturing industry. Fresh graduates are welcomed to apply with related educational background. Strong understanding of PSM regulations, hazard analysis techniques, and safety management systems. Experience with HAZOP concepts. Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate safety concepts and procedures to diverse audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to assess complex situations and develop practical solutions. Familiarity with safety management software and digital platforms for tracking safety performance and compliance. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on safety and compliance. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Strong organizational and project management skills.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Process Engineering or related field.
