The Yara Pilbara Fertilisers' plant is one of the largest ammonia production sites in the world and we have also taken the ammonia process further downstream with the Yara Pilbara Nitrates Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN) plant, a joint venture with Orica.
Together with ENGIE, Yara Pilbara will also build a renewable hydrogen plant to produce renewable ammonia.

Responsibilities Looking for an exciting new challenge? Yara is seeking applications for their permanent role of Process Operator.
Reporting to the Shift Superintendent, the Process Operator is responsible for operating Utilities areas and the Ammonia Plant in a safe and efficient manner after completion of competency-based training.
This role operates under a shift arrangement of 2 days, 2 nights and 4 off.
The primary responsibilities include: Undertakes all HESQ training as required and aligns with Company's Core Values Monitors and operates Plant Systems and Equipment under various plant conditions and in various areas of the YPF Plant Performs basic, routine, abnormal and advanced operations in the Cooling Water, CPU Treatment, Chlorination/acid/caustic system, waste water handling Desalination units etc in accordance with company policy and within Standard Operating Conditions and Limits (SOCL) to maintain steady production in designated areas and to prevent damage to equipment Executes start up and shutdown of plant and equipment Initiates notifications for plant maintenance work in accordance with plant productivity Prepares plant equipment for maintenance repairs and returns to service in a safe and efficient manner as per Work Instruction Maintains logs and records for all areas of the plant Verifies safe work permit requirements are met for maintenance of plant systems and equipment Participates in reviewing the check list, SOPs etc.
Adheres to Permit To Work (PTW) procedure, Confined Space Entry procedures, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Sketches and Pressure Relief Devices (PRDs) and provides feedback on improvements Conducts sampling and simple laboratory analysis for boilers and cooling water Conducts First Line Maintenance Contributes to Continuous improvement activities Emergency Response Team member Profile A Process Plant Operator Certificate, trade or tertiary qualifications Minimum of 5 years within a position in the Chemical/petrochemical industry, preferably in an Ammonia or Methanol Plant environment Emergency response experience is desirable Competent usage of Excel Spreadsheets, Word, Outlook and other Microsoft modules Fluent written and verbal English is essential Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency Additional Information We welcome and encourage women and people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent to apply.
