6-month casual contract through Chandler Macleod contracting to our Whyalla based client, with possibility to extendMust have own vehicle and drivers licenseBased in Whyalla Our client is the largest chemical producer in the world.

About the Role: The Process Operator will assist in the manufacturing of beta-carotene by operating the plant and equipment in a safe and efficient manner, as a relief plant operator / 4th summer operator.
The role will assist with laboratory testing, lake additions, data entry, and minor plant maintenance as trained.
Predominantly day shift hours are 7:00am - 3:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Must be available to work afternoon shifts when needed for coverage.
Afternoon shift 3:00pm - 11:00pm and night shift 11:00pm - 7:00am.
Key Responsibilities: To operate the equipment and plant to manufacture product in accordance with documented procedures and as directed by the ManagerTo carry out goods receipt and dispatch, correct labelling and storage, along with housekeeping and general (non-expert) maintenance tasks as directed by the ManagerTo complete production data entryTo notify management immediately whenever equipment defects or breakdowns are notedTo record all data as required relating to the manufacturing processes and maintenance of plant and equipmentTo complete laboratory analysis as per approved methods, following safe chemical handling proceduresTo complete lake additions as per the scheduleTo participate in management system audits, inspections and documentation updatesCarry out routine maintenance and housekeeping operations as requested.

Clean up all spills in a timely mannerTo assist in the carrying out of stock takes in the production areaTo assist with lake sampling, dosing and gate changesTo participate in site cleaning activities, and minor maintenance to buildings and structuresTo work and behave with due care for the consideration for the environment, the health and safety of yourself and to ensure that all team members observe safe working practices and to instruct them when necessaryTo use all recommended personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling chemicalsTo take corrective action to combat unsafe practices or conditions whenever they arise and, as far as is possible, to anticipate and prevent hazards before they ariseTo observe and promote any company rules designed to ensure safety and prevent damage to the environmentTo comply with the company's equal opportunity, anti-harassment and anti-discrimination policyKey Requirements: Previous experience of working in a production environment is an advantageMust have drivers licence and own vehicleForklift driving/operator's licence (LF)If you have all of the above and are available to start ASAP, please apply!
