The Opportunity The Process Engineer role is integral to maintaining the technical, regulatory, and operational standards of our Fuel Oil Manufacturing and  Liquid Treatment Site in Wingfield, and our Fuel Oil Manufacturing site in Dandenong.
This position will ensure that our sites operate within regulatory frameworks and implement best practices that maximise safety, efficiency, and reliability.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: Ensuring our operations remain compliant with environmental and safety regulations as mandated by local and national regulatory bodies.
Implementing and maintaining procedures aligned with relevant Australian Standards, from handling hazardous materials to managing emissions, to avoid costly compliance risks.
Identifying bottlenecks or inefficiencies and recommending technical adjustments that increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
Ensuring that the final products meet the required standards and specifications.
Addressing root cause analysis and troubleshooting for operational issues in real-time to minimise downtime and maximise asset reliability.
Facilitating seamless communication between site operations and corporate resources, especially when introducing new technologies, system upgrades, or compliance measures.
Managing technical documentation and reporting and providing accurate, timely, and detailed technical documentation that supports operational and corporate decision-making.
About You You are a self-starter with highly developed analytical skill who can work collaboratively across all levels of an organisation.
Ideally you will have a background in process engineering, plant design and or commissioning of process plants and equipment.
Your uncompromising commitment to a safety-first culture will be appreciated.
Additionally, you will also possess.
A bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental engineering, or a related discipline.
Proven experience in heavy industry and/or waste treatment processes and systems An ability to read, analyse and interpret business documents, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and licensing requirements relevant to waste disposal, plus appropriate engineering standards associated with process plant.
Strong technical writing skills for producing detailed and accurate reports.
Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
