Process Engineer
to join our talented team at our office located in
Melbourne,
Australia.
In this role, you will assist and provide process engineering design and project support services on manufacturing and operational process systems for numerous cutting-edge pharmaceutical/life science facilities. The assignments contain specific tasks on project teams and these individuals are expected to use their education, intelligence and common sense to resolve the engineering problems and tasks they are assigned.
Given the nature of our industry and project location/country geography, we are considering qualified candidates that currently live in and are authorized to work in Australia or New Zealand and are able to successfully work in a hybrid working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
Prepares process design documents and deliverables for all phases of projects including Conceptual Designs, Basis of Design and Detailed Design.
Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
Modifies reports, specifications, drawings (PFD's and P&ID's), construction schedules, environmental impact studies and designs to scope of the project as directed by the Lead Engineer.
Makes calculations, using engineering formulas and skills for process design.
Creates specialized drawings such as PFD's, MFD's, UDD's and P&ID's.
Selects equipment based on recommendations of Lead Process Engineer and generates equipment lists and schedules.
Provides drawing for own designs and produces sketches to incorporate into drawings by drafters.
Researches design options and document findings for Lead Process Engineer.
Keeps Lead Engineer informed of work load and any changes in project scope or additional services. Provides information to Lead Engineer for incorporation into specifications.
Designs in accordance with cGMP process guidelines for pharmaceutical facilities.
Organizes and maintains project files. Maintains a neat and organized work area which allows efficient access to information required by other team members.
Assures that drawings and designs are in accordance with company production and design standards.
Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years engineering experience
Bachelor of Engineering Degree in (Chemical) Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
Experience in a variety of pharmaceutical projects including API, OSD and Aseptic Fill / Finishing a plus.
Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and computer aided drafting.
Ability to interface with other disciplines on a project where required.
